WEG starts working on a new edition International Energy Transparency Index with DiXi Group, Ukraine

Energy Transparency Index, Developed by DIXI Group is a tool to assess information availability in the energy sector, diagnose gaps, make in-depth analysis and comparisons, and track the progress. The assessment will be conducted in three Eastern Partnership countries – Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia and EU member, Romania.

Energy Transparency Index covers eight categories (Balances, Natural monopolies, Supply, Reliability and security, Consumption, Reporting, Policy, and public authorities). The first five categories are sectoral, covering countries' electricity and natural gas markets, and the last three are cross-sectoral related to the whole energy sector. Each category includes a set of relevant indicators assessed by six transparency criteria (availability, accessibility, relevance, frequency, usability, and completeness).

Following the evaluation, experts will make specific recommendations aimed at increasing the transparency of energy sectors of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and Romania.

The presentation of key findings of the International Energy Transparency Index’s 2nd edition is expected in March 2022.

The project is implemented by the financial support of the European Union and Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation.
