Project intends to support the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MoESD) in the localization of the EU Clean Energy Package and to reinforce its implementation through developing a roadmap and policy guidelines targeting the energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy security, and energy poverty pillars of the sector. Corresponding interventions are to be followed by development of the internal capacity of the MoESD to fill the relevant gaps effectively and contribute to the implementation of the national commitments made under the Energy Community Accession Protocol.

The project seeks to achieve the stated objective by implementing the following key activities:

• Activity 1: Developing the capacity of MoESD in implementing the REDII Directive under the CEP.
• Activity 2: Advancing MoESD’s energy efficiency policy development capabilities.
• Activity 3: Strengthening energy security and risk analysis capacities of MoESD; and
• Activity 4: Enhancing energy poverty policy development capacities within MoESD.
