WEG has prepared four chapters of the Second Biennial Update Report (SBUR) of Georgia to UNFCCC: National Circumstances and Institutional Arrangements, Mitigation Policies and Measures, Needs and Support Received. The project was implemented with the financial support of UNDP and GEF in 2018.

The study has reflected the following issues: climate data of the last 25 years, state policy priorities towards climate change and educational programs in Georgia, analysis of key economic sectors contributing in greenhouse gas emissions at national level, barriers and financial, technical and capacity building needs to mitigate climate change impact, support received from international funds and donor states on climate change mitigation. About 80 mitigation projects have been assessed and reported by sectors in the study. Two public discussions were conducted during the project.
