Elaboration of „National Circumstances and Institutional Arrangements” chapter and “Constraints and Gaps, Support Received and Needs” chapter of Georgia’s Second Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC
Under the Micro-Capital Grant Agreement between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and World Experience for Georgia (WEG), WEG will facilitate Elaboration of „National Circumstances and Institutional Arrangements” chapter and “Constraints and Gaps, Support Received and Needs” chapter of Georgia’s Second Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC. The project is implemented under the UNDP/GEF project “Development of Georgia’s Fourth National Communication and Second Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC”.
Following tasks will be undertaken under the project:
- Provide and/or update information on National circumstances: natural resources, climate and socio-economic features that may affect climate change mitigation;
- Describe national and regional development objectives, priorities and circumstances relevant to the climate change and mitigation of its adverse impacts;
- Collect, analyze and synthesize information on the measures aimed at integrating climate change into socio-economic and environmental policies in Georgia and progress on this way;
- Update information on education and public awareness activities in the field of climate change;
- Prepare “National Circumstances and institutional Arrangements” chapter of SBUR and respective part of SBUR executive summary in English and Georgian Languages;
- Update Information on financial resources, technology transfer, capacity building and technical support received from bilateral and multilateral donors;
- Assess technology, financial and capacity needs/constraints for climate change mitigation and fulfilment of the national obligations under the UNFCCC;
- Identify domestic sources of finance those are available to finance the priority policies and measures;
- Assess need for external financial support;
- Prepare “Constraints and Gaps, Support Received and Needs” chapter of SBUR and respective part of SBUR executive summary in English and Georgian Languages.
