Study Tour at SINTEF Energy Research, Oslo, Norway
The Study Tour for participants from Georgia and Armenia was hosted on December 15-17 by SINTEF, the leading research institution in Norway. Within the twining activity the participants visited SINTEF in Oslo and SINTEF’s headquarter in Trondheim, Center for International Climate and Environmental Research, Statnett (the Norwegian TSO), Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Oslo Center for Interdisciplinary Environmental and Social Research, Oslo Tech and Hafslund district heating plant that operates on biofuels. The main focus of the twinning activity was to discuss technical solutions related to power production and conversion, transmission and distribution and the end use of energy.
SINTEF covers all the key areas from the indoor climate and energy use in buildings to gas technology, combustion and bioenergy. During the meetings with energy utilities and research organizations, participants were also introduced to the main activities of a particular institution and their main projects and areas of interests. At the final workshop the participants identified areas for the future cooperation with visited organizations and SINTEF in particular.
