Under the UNDP Micro-Capital Grant Agreement for Non-Credit Related Activities project WEG prepared the Mitigation and Constraints & Gaps chapters of First Biennial Updated Report. Activities included:

• Critical analysis of TNC – identification of shortcomings and potential for improvement in methodologies, assumptions, coverage of sectors and mitigation measures
•  Assess the mitigation potential of the country, considering technical, environmental and economic aspects
• Identify concrete mitigation actions and policies to ensure the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission limitation/reduction;
• Identify potential GHG abatement options in the key sectors;
• Develop appropriate criteria for prioritization of the mitigation measures and evaluate mitigation measures against the agreed criteria; Prioritize and choose mitigation measures and policies based on national circumstances
• Quantify emission reductions associated with the chosen options
• Evaluate the cost of implementation of the measures
• Identify financing needs associated with the selected implementation measures
• Prepare the Mitigation chapter of BUR in Georgian and English languages
